CAS-ual Fridays Happy Hanukkah

The year is coming to a close fast!  But it's also the last day of Hanukkah.  I did so many Christmas posts this season I don't want to forget to wish my Jewish friends a Happy Hanukkah!!!  I'm so jealous your celebration is 8 days!  LOL!  Much love to you and yours!

I started this card by stamping a background stripes from HOLLY JOLLY BORDERS in ombre shades of blue.  I made sure the lightest stripes would be in the center - behind the sentiment from STAR OF DAVID.
I love these stars from the Hanukkah Fri Dies Set.  The die cuts them inside each other so the centers are empty, or you can inlay them.   I flipped them over (gold side down), and set them inside each other.  A piece of tape across the back and they stay in place perfectly. You can stack up to 5 layers.. like this beauty.
Isn't that blue and gold just yummy?

Here's another shot at an angle so you can see all that gold shine!

I hope your celebration was amazing this year!

Want to go shopping? There's lots of stamps in the sale section of the store, and yes.. you can double dip using my special code. Any commission that would normally be given to me has been redirected to CASual Fridays for their Calling All Sistahs Campaign to use toward breast cancer awareness and prevention. I do not accept any payment for products I use on my blog. I only work with products I love and would recommend.

Have a great day!

12 Kits of Occasions - December

Thanks for stopping by! Sorry I'm a little late! I'm posting today for the 12 Kits of Occasions! We're a group of 12 friends who all like to papercraft. Every month we take turns making a kit for the rest of the group. We all get the same things and on the last day of the month we reveal what we made with the kit.  We're posting early today so we can all enjoy the New Year's festivities with family and friends.  I haven't been around much.. most of the family had a bad stomach flu and I confess I spent about 3 days in bed.  I'm feeling good today and happy to be with the living! LOL!

Here's a peek at our beautiful kit this month!  Our hostess is Jessica Davis of the Paper Parade Blog.  I can't say enough nice things about Jessica - she's done so many nice things for me.  Let's just say that a better friend you just couldn't have - she has a heart of gold!

Her kit this month was a wonderful mix of ELEGANT black, white and gold foil accented papers (that I had to convince myself to not hoard), glittery die cuts, and lots of cute and cuddly critters to play with.   There was even metallic accents (twine and sequins) and wood veneers.  I always tell you to look out for something that I think was a "tricky" element.   There was one this time when I looked at my tray of "what was left".  There were a few clear buttons that I just didn't get around to using so I'm going to be on the lookout for those when I go to visit the rest of the group.

I got 6 cards made and probably could have done more .. so let's get started!

Lots of fun right?  Want to see what the rest of the team made?  Just click on their names below or why not hop on over to The 12 Kits of Occasions Blog where we have a sample by each of the designers.

Tupelo Designs - Bold Blossom Thanks

Are you getting ready to count down to a new year?  My favorite thing this week has been scooping up the after Christmas deals.  Have you checked out Tupelo Designs LLC?  They're giving 20% off all orders over $100 - (17% on orders over $75) and YES you still get free shipping!  My favorite part about this sale is that I can mix and match products.. so I can buy different brands like Altenew, Reverse Confetti, Concord & 9th, Waffle Flower, and still get a great deal.
I'm addicted to pattern paper and found a new brand at Tupelo that I've never tried before.  Blue Fern Studio.  The high quality paper is printed on both sides, is a nice weight and is so pretty!

These dreamy romantic papers needed a feminine focal point so I stamped Bold Blossom from Altenew in shades of lavender.  I like the unexpected, and I always have to stop and look twice when I see a purple rose at the garden center!   I used Die-namics Stitched Oval Frames for a clean background to contrast with the busy papers.
The "Thanks" sentiment is from the Altenew Floral Frame set.  It has several pretty script sentiments that coordinate with anything.
If you're shopping this weekend make sure you check out Tupelo Designs LLC - I think you'll be glad you did.  And you'll be surprised at how quick your order arrives!

You Make Me Happy

I hope you had a great Christmas! I know we all have so much to be thankful for. I'm blessed to be surrounded by family. This year several of us were suffering with the flu. We took chores in turns (cleaning the house, food prep, wrapping presents) and managed to pull it off! I don't think any of our guests realized we weren't feeling up to it.
My card today was made with products from the Pretty Little Studio Here Comes The Sun collection. I love the bright colors, hand lettered sentiments, and watercolor look .
It's easy to create with Pretty Little Studio products - the die cuts are printed, cut and ready to work with. I used dies from two different packages - the sentiment comes from Coffee Time and the Sunshine, Citrus, and Cloud are from Here Comes The Sun.
Seriously I think that citrus is making me feel better already! Everyone has a little "sunshine" in their life - why not let them know?
Those yummy iridescent sequins are the icing on the cake. The yellow is called Sunsation, and the fuchsia is Primrose! They look so juicy with the citrus!
Have a great day!

Happy New Year!

I hope you had a fabulous Christmas and that you got to spend the holiday with family and friends. There's nothing like that warm feeling of being surrounded by the ones you love to make the season brighter. Now that the presents have been opened.. it's time to look back at 2016 - and reflect on events past. It's also a time to look forward to 2017 with wishes of all good things.
Here's a toast to 2017! My card features lots of sparkle and shine. I've added silver glitter paper and sequins to coordinate with the fun fringe top on my tag. I threaded several strands of The Twinery Platinum Twine through the tag hole to make a bold statement! The mix of metallic thread with the natural cotton twine is beautiful! The Twinery has several different twine blends that have metallic threads. These really help make crafting for any occasion extraordinary. The extra shimmer is lush and expensive looking and adds lots of drama.
I added some Pretty Pink Posh silver sequiins - I love the mix of different shapes and sizes. All the stamps and dies on this card are from Reverse Confetti. I cut the Double Edge Scallop Border in silver glitter paper and then cut it in half.  The large scallops run across the top of the card, the small scallops across the bottom.
The papers are actually from the Halloween Fright Night 6" Pad! The Iced Aqua cardstock next to the silver is just yummy!
The sentiment and glasses are from the CLINK stamp set and Confetti Cuts. They're great for any sort of celebration!

We don't usually go out to celebrate New Year's Eve. I'll be up watching the countdown around the world while Mr. J is snoozing on the couch. My son will be lighting fireworks, and the dog will be hiding under the bed! Whatever you do to celebrate - have fun and be safe! Hugs to you and yours and may God Bless You in 2017!
