Tupelo Designs LLC - Brightside

TGIF!  I hope you're mind is on the weekend and you're making plans!  Here in the midwest we're enjoying summer's last Hurrah!  I'm beginning to see leaves falling from the trees - we have some Poplars (Cotton Woods) in the yard and they're the first to drop!  My mind is telling me to soak it all in and enjoy because it's going to get cold before you know it!
You know I'm totally addicted to dies.  I found a few I really love in the store that I just couldn't resist.  Tupelo Designs, LLC has lots of your favorites, and if you spend some time looking around you're sure to find some new favorites like I did!  This pretty die is "Look on the Bright Side" from PinkFresh Studio.  You can find them in the store here.

I painted the background with Distress Ink reinkers in Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron,
Tumbled Glass and Broken China.  (See all the colors here) I keep mine in a palette because I paint with them pretty regularly.  I'm not a big fan of this design.. it's not spill proof, and the inks tend to get on the cover where I have my swatches painted.

I painted on Tim Holtz Distress Water Color Paper, it's thick and super white making it easy to work with!

A splatter of white ink is the finishing touch before adhering the intricate die cut. A needle tip applicator is best for this.
Tupelo Designs LLC has lots of your favorite brands all under one roof! You'll love that you can mix and match products and never worry about shipping because it's FREE (USA only) with no coupon required. I always find what I'm looking for and am happy with how it's packaged and shipped.

Want a peek at my most recent order? I'll be working with these on future posts!
Some new Concord and 9th, and My Favorite Things!
I'm getting ready for the holidays too with some Waffle Flower!

CAS(E) this Sketch - You're So Thoughtful

Hi and thanks for stopping by!  I'm playing at CAS(E) this Sketch this week!  I love a sketch challenge!
I see lots of layers here!!   This is what I made!

I started with a polka dot background and topped it with two Lacy Scallop Frames.  I kept the die cuts in place for the smaller white die cut.  I think it looks like lace peeking through the flowers.

The sentiment is from Whole Lotta Thanks and is stamped on a clean white strip of card stock.

I arranged florals from Reverse Confetti Build A Bunch under the sentiment.  They're all stamped with Memento ink and colored with Copic Markers.

There are so many flowers in this set and coloring them in different shades changes their look.  I made sure to add some blue flowers and accents to pick up on the background paper.

I love the rainbow of flowers - bright and beautiful!  Have a wonderful day!

Just Add Ink - Damask Greetings

Off to the start of a new week!  I'm enjoying a little down time after walking Miss Moriko.. sitting at my desk and playing with a new stamp set from Pretty Pink Posh that you can only find at Simon Says Stamp! It's part of their Stamptember event!    This set is called Damask Greetings and it's got so many possibilities!  I've only used a few stamps from the set to create this pretty design!

I thought this set would be perfect for playing a color challenge so I'm joining Just Add Ink  Challenge today with this pretty palate of colors!

The stamp set includes lots of sentiments, and pretty damask images that you can stamp how every you like to create one of a kind cards.  I know that just by changing the colors you'll be able to create a whole new look every time.

I love the font script on the sentiments.  The images were really easy to line up too - no drawing or stampy tool required.

I scattered a few sequins in colors similar to the inks throughout the design.  They're also very handy if you have a little Inky mistake that you need to cover.

I know I'll be reaching for this set over and over because I can customize cards for every occasion, masculine in blues or feminine in pinks - and for everything else every color in between!   The possibilities are endless!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Are you hopping with us?  Chibitronics has paired up with CAS-ual Fridays for a blog hop featuring products from both companies!  CAS-ual Fridays makes beautiful stamps and dies, and Chibitronics makes LED circuit stickers perfect for all your crafty projects!   If you're hopping along you should have reached me from Kelly Griglione's blog!  If you want to get all the details including the candy that's up for grabs you can do that here at the CAS-ual Fridays Blog!

It was lots of fun learning how to work with the lights and integrate them into my project!  I hope you can see the row of lights behind the "Hooray" vellum panel.

I stamped the Hip Hip from the Bravo stamp set in a rainbow of colors on a piece of card stock.  I did this the old fashioned way with pencil marked lines and a stamp a ma jig.  The little flower's in between are from Sassy Smiles.  I stamped with Memento Ink and used a marker to draw the squiggly lines between each line of stamping.

I stamped the HOORAY with Staz On ink on a vellum panel.  The Chibitronic lights are underneath.

TIP:  I didn't want the copper tape to show under the vellum panel - fortunately for me DH is an electrical wizard and told me it was ok to paint the tape with white acrylic paint.  He was right.. it didn't affect the operation of the lights at all!   Paint the tape AFTER you have completed your layout.. the stickers still need to touch the copper tape to work.

The finishing touch was a sprinkle of Fun Fetti topped with gems.

Ready to see more projects? Your next stop is Eiko Uchida! But before you go please leave me a comment.. there's some great prizes up for grabs.. a Chibi Lights starter kit (value $30) and a $30 gift card to CAS-ual Fridays Stamps! But you have to comment to enter!
